Musimani spoke in statements to the South African newspaper, "The South African", after crowning Al-Ahly with another title in the African Champions League, his seventeenth title in his career and the eighth in the past 18 months.
Musimani criticized FIFA and France Football for ignoring, saying: "No one cares about my achievements, in the FIFA awards in the Golden Ball and Coach of the Year categories, we do not enter into the nominations, but only the Europeans are present, not the Africans."
He continued, "I won eight titles, but no one cares because I am not a Liverpool coach, but history will remember that."
He continued, "Africa must trust its children. The president of Al-Ahly could have gone to Europe and brought the best coaches to train the team, but we have Africans who can win titles, why don't we think we can win them?"
