Spanish press reports revealed that Real Madrid is close to renewing the contract of its player Lucas Vásquez, after the management of the Royal Club made a new offer for the player, to stay for the next 3 years and he will receive an annual salary of up to 5 million euros.
The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that the negotiations between Real Madrid and his player Lucas Vasquez to renew the player's contract have become positive between the two parties in recent days after the new offer made by the royal to raise the player's salary from 3.5 to 5 million euros.
The newspaper added that the 29-year-old player had his first desire to stay with the Merengue, but he felt underappreciated in terms of the financial side, which made him look at the offers that he received, especially from Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
It is worth noting that Lucas Vásquez's current contract with Real Madrid expires at the end of the current season. Vásquez had suffered a severe injury, which is a sprain in the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, during the Clásico match against traditional rivals Barcelona, and he will miss the team's matches until the end of the current season.
The 29-year-old played 31 games with Real Madrid this season in all competitions, scored two goals, also participated in 240 matches in general with the Royal, scored 26 goals and gave 54 assists.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid is ranked first in the Spanish League this season with 71 points, two points behind Atletico Madrid, the leader with 73 points.
